- Abstract
The industrial society transformed the understanding of nature and human being. The movement for humanization of childbirth and birth care criticizes the control and intervention in this phase of human life and these are crucial aspects against the techno-science. This paper examines interrelations between conceptions of human nature and birth to result from scientific mind in contemporaneity and the humanized childbirth and birth ideary. We considered that control and artificialization of internal and external human nature are based on the instrumental rationality. This process happened in the body, especially in woman body. This movement for humanization of childbirth and birth care contributes to ontological reflection of human dimension in health sciences, making possible ample discussion about dominant rationality in health practices.
