- Abstract
The article describes the case of a patient in Scotland who was on anticoagulation therapy for a left ventricular assist device and had been hospitalized due to consumption of a large amount of brussels sprouts. The patient admitted to consuming 15-20 pieces of the traditional Christmas fare on three to four occasions per week before Christmas. It explains that excessive consumption of vitamin k1-rich foods may antagonise the action of warfarin.
