- Abstract
The article presents the study which identifies the predictors of coronary heart disease (CHD) in Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults. It elaborates on the cohort study of Australian Indigenous adults who were initially CHD-free and who were followed-up after an average of 7.5 years. The author concludes that high prevalence of glycaemia and albuminuria account for the excess CHD risk beyond the traditional Framingham risk factors.
