- Abstract
The article discusses management guidelines about evidence relating to bone and metabolic health in patients with non-metastatic prostate cancer who are undergoing androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). The risk of osteoporotic fractures, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular events is found to increase with the use of ADT in men with prostate cancer. It is recommended that prostate cancer patients receiving ADT be monitored closely for weight gain and diabetes. Optimal reduction of cardiovascular risk factors is also suggested.
