- Abstract
The article reports on a study investigating the association between surgeon experience and biochemical recurrence after radical prostatectomy. The study included 6,091 patients treated by open radical prostatectomy and an independent replication set of 2,298 patients treated laparoscopically. The study suggests that the impact of surgeon-specific factors should be considered in studies investigating biological variables as predictors of outcome after curative resection of cancer.
