- Abstract
The article discusses the use of RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) as a software tool for surveying genomic features of gene expression and transcriptome content in complex organisms. It mentions that the increase in the popularity of RNA-seq has been driven by its capability to overcome limitations of array based profiling such as cross-hybridization and a reliance on suitable probe design. It indicates the ability of a software tool in improving analysis of alternative splice events in RNA-seq data.
