- Abstract
This article focuses on the political economy in Canada as presented by Harold A. Innis. The author explores Innis's portrayal of the Canadian settlement process, particularly through representation, landscape, and memory. The author applies these finding to the novels of W. G. Sebald. Topics include the International Political Economy, the role of landscape in evolution, the presence of European settlers in Canada, cultural identity, the materialistic perspective of a society, and sociological perspectives of economy.
