- Abstract
The paper presents the results of research concerning the analysis of spatial distribution of detailed geodetic control points in rural areas in Poland. The analysis takes into consideration the relations between the number of geodetic control points and land cover type (built-up, agricultural, and forest) as well as the effective legal regulations in Poland with regard to the issues. The analysis results were referred to geodetic sections classified by the k-means method with respect to the number of the control points and the built-up, agricultural and forest areas. The research indicates that the number of the geodetic control points in an area depends to the extent of 35 % on the type of land cover (building, agricultural and forest land). Having this in mind, the authors recommend taking the land cover into consideration already in the phase of designing a geodetic control network.
