- Abstract
In this article, the authors examine beliefs regarding the substitution of drug treatments to optimize spending headed by a group of European healthcare experts. The authors argue that the necessity to reduce and manage costs is significant for healthcare systems throughout the world, since generic substitution is widely adopted across Europe. Moreover, they say that best practice is the solution for issues associated with both therapeutic and generic substitution.
