- Abstract
The article focuses on a prospective cohort study conducted on women aged between 40 to 59 years to compare the cumulative probability of false-positive results and the stage distribution of incident breast cancer after 10 years of annual or biennial screening mammography. The study, which was funded by the U.S. National Cancer Institute, found that in the initial mammography False-positive recall probability was 16.3 percent and at subsequent mammography it was 9.6 percent.
