- Title
RAWLS ON JUST SAVINGS AND ECONOMIC GROWTH.
- Authors
Picchio, Marcos
- Abstract
The article examines John Rawls's perspective on justice between generations, specifically focusing on his concept of a just savings principle. Rawls argues that justice between generations is primarily concerned with economic matters, particularly the rate of savings for capital investment in a just society. The article explores Rawls's explanation of how the parties in the original position could be motivated to save for future generations, as well as the objections and limitations of his approach. It also proposes alternative intergenerational savings principles and argues for expanding Rawls's justificatory approach to the issue of justice between generations.
