- Abstract
The article presents a study which demonstrates splitting of CRISPR-associated (Cas) endonuclease Cas9 in into two fragments and rendered chemically inducible by rapamycin-binding dimerization domains for genome editing and transcription modulation. It mentions that two nuclear localization sequences on Cas9 FK506 binding protein 12 (FKBP) rapamycin binding (FRB) were replaced to sequester the Cas9(N)-FRB fragment in the cytoplasm.
