- Title
New lysine methyltransferase drug targets in cancer.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article focuses on the findings of recent preclinical studies which suggest that inhibitors of histone methyltransferases represent promising drug candidates for cancer therapy. The studies show that histone methyltransferases modify key lysines and arginines on histones and thus influence patterns of gene expression. The findings also suggest that the G9a methyltransferase catalyzes the methylation of the histone protein H3 on lysine 9 (H3K9).
