- Abstract
The article discusses a study which describes the development of a method for rapid quantification of ionophores in feeds by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Ionophores, which are widely used in veterinary medicine as coccidiostats and for improving nutrient utilization in livestock production, sometimes cause poisoning in livestock. The high specificity and high sensitivity of tandem mass spectrometry, enabled the measurement of extracts without further processing.
