- Abstract
This document is a guest editorial for a special issue of the Bulletin of Earthquake Engineering on artificial intelligence, sensing, and big data analytics in earthquake engineering. The editorial highlights the advancements in technology and their impact on earthquake engineering. It presents the objectives of the special issue, which include showcasing applications of new technologies in earthquake engineering and promoting the use of these technologies by researchers. The editorial also provides an overview of the contributions in the special issue, which cover topics such as earthquake scenarios analysis, seismic response reconstruction, prediction of rocking systems, model updating, generative adversarial networks, calibration of numerical models, seismic analysis of bridges, remote sensing, and image-based finite element modeling.
