- Title
The Decline and Fall of the Dominant Paradigm: Trustworthiness of Case Reports in the Digital Age.
- Authors
MILLS, WILLIAM R.
- Abstract
An essay on the credibility of case reports from the Internet is presented. It explores the West paradigm, a universally accepted framework for working with American case law, and the use of the National Reporter System, Westlaw, Lexis, and the Key Number in terms of case reporting. It is noted that cases on websites from outside the West paradigm and derive from different resources are subject to scrutiny and only Lexis and Westlaw are considered credible. The author suggests that the case law reporting system and legal citation must be reestablished.
