- Abstract
The article discusses the problems of separating the world into the eastern and western hemisphere based on the perspective of environmental history and world-systems theory through the traditional Chinese principles of the earth called dili. Topics include the location of majority of the population on the northern hemisphere which creates geopolitics, the false argument of bifurcation on the east/west dichotomy, and the globalisation trends due to north and south hemisphere relationship.
