- Abstract
First steps after recognition of an IVC injury include initial hemorrhage control and prevention of injury extension. This video demonstrates an MIS technique for managing a small, proximal IVC injury in the reoperative foregut. Introduction Iatrogenic injuries to the inferior vena cava (IVC) during minimally invasive (MIS) bariatric and foregut surgery are rare but most often occur during peritoneal access or when operating close to vasculature [[1]].
