The article describes the purpose of Securities Litigation Uniform Standards Act of 1998 (SLUSA) and Private Securities Litigation Reform Act (PSLRA) by discussing two U.S. court cases. Topics discussed include supreme court case Chadbourne & Parke LLP v. Troice where the court held that SLUSA did not apply to the plaintiffs' claims, Hidalgo-Velez v. San Juan Asset Management Inc. where district court granted the defendants' motion to dismiss.
