An essay on musician and harmonica player Larry Adler is presented, focusing on allegations that he was a communist sympathizer during the Cold War. It examines objections presented by Connecticut housewife Hester R. McCullough to Adler's 1948 performance in Greenwich, Connecticut and the trial surrounding libel charges brought by Adler against McCullough. The author also comments on Adler's time in England and discusses the file of the MI5, or British Security Service, on Adler.
