- Abstract
The article offers information on the tropical disease mycetoma, which is caused by fungi eumycetoma or filamentous bacteria actinomycetoma. It mentions that mycetoma, which was listed by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a neglected disease in 2013, is generally inaccurately diagnosed and poorly managed, with largest numbers of cases found in Mexico, Sudan and India. Treatment include the use of antibacterial agents like amikacin, moxifloxacin and imipenem.
