- Title
THE COSTS OF RELIGIOUS ACCOMMODATION IN PRISONS.
- Authors
Stout, Taylor G.
- Abstract
The article focuses on an issue regarding the sensitivity of the U.S. courts to the costs of the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA) in the prison context. It highlights the Supreme Court case Cutter v. Wilkinson and argues that the burdens imposed by the RLUIPA result in fewer religious services. The article also examines if federal circuit courts are receptive to the arguments of prison officials regarding the burdens of the RLUIPA.
