- Abstract
The article presents a description of a twinned pearl examined at the Swiss Gemological Institute Schweizerische (SSEF) in Switzerland. The pearl has 5.61 carat and display and intergrowth of different colors. It is noted that one side of the pearl has a broken surface which suggested that there was another pearl attached to it before. The pearl underwent x-radiography in two directions which revealed that the pearl was a beadless cultured pearl. Examiners conclude that the twinned pearl is similar to the beadless cultured pearls from China.
