- Abstract
In this article, the author discusses a review of the operation of U.S. diamond manufacturer Hasenfeld-Stein. According to the author, the review covered four key areas: sourcing of rough diamonds; manufacturing; operations, including inventory and product mix; and sales and marketing. He recalls that the company opend its first robotic diamond cutting operation in New York City to keep up the growing demands on manufacturing. The author adds that the company upgraded its information technology capabilities and hired professional managers to allow the company to develop more accurate sales projections.
