The article explores the compensability of mental stress-related mental disability under the worker's compensation laws in the U.S. Topics discussed include the diagnosis and treatment of mental injuries under workers' compensation programs, the traumatic neuroses which may have originated from mental stress according to physician Henry H. Kessler, and the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) study which focused on the development of anxiety in white-collar workers.
