- Abstract
The article presents information on the decisions by the courts regarding privacy, media and defamation law of the U.S. with respect to the threats to the privacy and national security of the country by the website WikiLeaks and phone hacking. The decision of the Supreme Court of the U.S. on the privacy cases were on the basis of misappropriation, intrusion and false invasion. Information on other sectors that can pose a threat to the country includes the internet law, newsgathering, access to the court proceedings, privileges of reporters and insurance is also presented.
