The Dialogic of Violence.

- Abstract
In fact, we have tried not to use the term "crime" at all for the social violence we are examining, since that would automatically imply a radical distinction between police violence and the social violence for which it is the role model (opinion with a gun in its hand). If police violence cancels the other's personhood, leaving them without autonomy, then there is already no "other" to whom the cop is responding. The police claim they need their assault rifles because of all the guns on the street. Police violence hides behind the idea that the police are civil society's main defense against social violence.
