- Abstract
The article responds to concerns raised in a letter by Dr. Alacamli, addressing the cost-effectiveness and efficacy of intracameral cefuroxime prophylaxis in preventing endophthalmitis after cataract surgery. The study concludes that the intervention significantly reduces endophthalmitis incidence by 86 percent, with cost savings of approximately 2334.36 U.S. dollars for every 568 treated patients, emphasizing the effectiveness of intracameral cefuroxime in clinical and economic aspects.
