The article focuses on the baptismal culture in eighteenth-century detailed cultural framework for re-appraising choice of composer Georg Philipp Telemann as a godparent for musician Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. It mentions that obligations that customarily governed the relationship between godfather and godson. It also mentions that Bach's baptism entered into the official parish register of the Stadtkirche in Weimar.
