- Abstract
This article presents a case report of a 49-year-old Caucasian male with a history of various psychiatric disorders, including alcohol use disorder (AUD). The patient was prescribed disulfiram, a medication used to treat AUD, and experienced a manic episode after four weeks of taking the medication. The manic symptoms resolved within two weeks after discontinuing disulfiram. The article discusses the potential for disulfiram to induce mania and emphasizes the importance of careful screening for risk factors before initiating treatment with disulfiram.
