- Title
Have the latest CPR guidelines improved cardiac arrest outcomes?
- Authors
Klocko, David J.
- Abstract
The article compares the changes, evidence and reasons behind the alterations made for the guidelines of the cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). It states that changes include the increase of compression rate, decreases in ventilation ratio for all ages older than neonates since earlier rates can cause hyperventilation. According to the Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium (ROC), there are evidence from an observational study that a higher CPR fraction has a direct impact on survival to discharge.
