- Abstract
The article discusses the significant role played by genomics in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases by physician assistants (PAs) in the U.S. It reveals that genetic testing provides an opportunity for PAs to efficiently assess the risks of patients to diseases as well as enhance the provision of medical care. It presents the diagnosis given to a 61-year-old man who has a history of Gilbert syndrome, infertility and obesity with the use of DNA testing.
