- Title
Clovis Blades at Paleo Crossing (33ME274), Ohio.
- Authors
Eren, Metin I.; Redmond, Brian G.
- Abstract
The article discusses Paleoindian stone blades uncovered by archaeologists at the Paleo Crossing Site in Ohio. Through comparisons with blade assemblages at other Paleoindian sites, the authors are able to conclude that the Crossing Site blades are from the Clovis culture. Due to the presence of endscrapers, or stone tools used in hide-working, at the site, the authors also propose that caribou hide-working was carried out at Paleo Crossing. The use of Wyandotte chert in the construction of these stone tools is also explained.
