- Abstract
The article presents abstracts on professional issues. Technical communicators have developed different methodologies for evaluating the effectiveness of their work such as editing, usability testing and determining the value-added. Employers' use of behavioral description interviews has increased dramatically within the past decade. Authors present criteria used to judge the effectiveness of applicants' stories and demonstrate how business communication instructors might use these criteria to help applicants tell better stories. Research presented in this article evaluates the influence of quality of information communicated about both non-traditional and traditional benefits on the recruitment of college graduates. Document review practices in the research and development functions of many pharmaceutical companies can be frustrating and inefficient at least in part because these practices are poorly managed. Online media have expanded the office to virtual environments in which one regularly interacts with coworkers from different cultures and countries. The purpose of this article is to explore trends in transforming scholarly publishing and their implications.
