- Abstract
Blue nail discolouration of multiple fingers (i.e. polydactyl blue nail discolouration) may be attributed to a range of causes. Based on case reports, the presence of an underlying condition (e.g. human immunodeficiency virus infection) or exposure to drugs or toxic agents were among the most commonly reported causes. Minocycline, zidovudine and hydroxyurea were the drugs that were most commonly associated with polydactyl blue nail discolouration.
