- Abstract
An essay on the career and postcolonial performance theory of Nigerian playwright, director, and actor Esiaba Irobi is presented. It examines his ideas on the concepts of entrancement and possession. His interest in Igbo oral tradition is considered. The author also comments on several of Irobi's plays, including "Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh," "The Colour of Rusting Gold," and "Nwokedi."
