- Abstract
The article presents a study which analyzes the costs and diagnoses of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) claims in different industries. The study utilized the MSDs 1999-2004 claim data obtained from the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (OBWC) wherein reported cases are assigned into anatomical regions with the use of standardized ICD-9 codes. The result manifests that the highest costs for each MSDs claim in different industries are for the shoulder, cervical and lumbar spine body regions.
