- Abstract
An interview with oncologist Victor Velculescu is presented. When asked what circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) was and how it could help in cancer therapeutics, he said ctDNA was fragments of DNA that escaped from tumors into the bloodstream which provides genetic clues to detect and analyse the cancer. He commented on how ctDNA could help in early detection of disease recurrence and how it is complementary in the analysis of circulating tumor cells.
