- Abstract
The article discusses the study which examines the effectiveness of ten pyrethroid insectide aerosol formulations registered for the household control of flies. In this study, tests were conducted using adult Musca domestica L. Researchers measured knockdown effects and mortality in a test chamber using the manufacturer's recommended discharge time. Results showed that knockdown effect varied between aerosols of similar composition and highest rates of mortality were obtained for a formulation containing permethrin, piperonyl butoxide and S-bioallethrin. It is concluded that formulations similar in insecticide composition implied differences in efficacy.
