- Abstract
This article discusses the increasing popularity and quality of nonfiction books for children. The author highlights the different types of nonfiction, including traditional, active, browsable, expository literature, and narrative, and emphasizes the importance of teaching students to recognize and utilize these categories. The author describes a book tasting activity they organized in their library to introduce students to the different types of nonfiction. They also reflect on the success of the activity and propose future lessons and projects to further enhance students' understanding and appreciation of nonfiction. The article concludes by emphasizing the ever-evolving nature of libraries and the need for more recognition of children's love for nonfiction.
