- Abstract
In an article published in Advanced Sustainable Systems, researchers Amandeep Singh Pannu, Jose Alarco, and their colleagues discuss the sustainable manufacturing of graphitic carbon from human hair, a bio-waste material. The study demonstrates that the graphitic carbon obtained from human hair can be used as an anode material in lithium-ion batteries, with a gravimetric capacity equivalent to that of pure graphite. This research opens up new possibilities for utilizing waste materials in battery production and highlights the potential for further exploration in this field.
