- Abstract
The development of electronic administration, or e-government, has changed the relationship with citizens over the last twenty years. Both central and local governments have been affected by this phenomenon. While the benefits of e-government are numerous, the issue of managing the digital risks it poses takes on a particular significance given the amount of personal data involved. The aim of our study is therefore to measure the real extent to which local executives have taken into account the need to secure e-government, as well as the related consequences, through the only field study carried out to date on the subject, involving more than 350 local authorities and Public Establishments for Inter-municipal Cooperation (EPCI).
