West Africa: The Industrial World's Dumping Grounds.
- Authors
Lu, Robert
- Abstract
The article focuses on the issues involving toxic waste trading in West Africa. The toxic waste trade in the said country is motivated by strong economic forces which national regulations in the past have failed to curb. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of a multilateral agreement remains dubious, and customs checks are difficult to manage. Moreover, the author believes that toxic waste trade will unlikely to cease causing friction between the industrialized nations and the third world countries.
