- Title
Finding the right depression medication.
- Abstract
The article provides information on how to get the right depression medication. It is inferred that two broad strategies exist for this: switching to a new drug or augmenting an antidepressant with another drug. It notes that the Sequenced Treatment Alternatives to Relieve Depression (STAR*D) study revealed that with persistent trial and error to find the right medication, nearly seven in 10 adult patients with depression will eventually find a treatment that works. INSET: When to consider psychotherapy.
