- Title
Writer's cramp is partly in your head--but where?
- Abstract
The article discusses research being done on structural abnormalities in the cerebellum and sensorimotor circuit in writer's cramp. It references a study by C. Delmaire and colleagues published in the July 24, 2007 issue of the journal "Neurology." Using imaging technology to examine brain structures, the researchers found the people with writer's cramp had less gray matter or neurons in three brain regions. They concluded that basal ganglia and cerebellum may work either independently or together to create writer's cramp.
