Title
Therapeutic alliance and treatment preference.
Abstract
The article discusses research being done on therapeutic alliance. It references a study by B. M. Iacoviello et al which appeared in the 2007 issue of the "Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology." At the start, about 50 percent of patients in the study preferred talk therapy and 50 percent preferred medications. The alliance tended to lose strength with time whether they were given psychotherapy, an antidepressant, or a placebo.
