The article discusses American exceptionalism in relation to the country's transition from fossil fuel usage to renewable energy sources as of July 2013, focusing on American energy independence and attempts to implement energy sources such as solar, wind, and biomass in America. Various types of energy sources are addressed, including wood, whale oil, and coal. The impact of fossil fuel use on the global climate conditions is also examined.
