- Authors
Daube, Mike
- Abstract
The author offers his opinion about a discussion paper on preventative health strategy in Australia issued by the Preventative Health Taskforce in October 2008. He notes that the paper offers practitioners of health promotion an opportunity to participate in the development of national policy. He cites the taskforce's proposals to achieve targets for 2020, including reversing the increase of obesity, reducing daily smoking to 9% or less and reducing harmful drinking by 30%. He cites that Federal Health Minister Nicola Roxon supports prevention.
