- Abstract
Although educators struggle to prepare students for the work force, many graudates lack sufficient skills. A mentorship program allows students to benefit from experienced professionals, begin networking and feel involved before they enter the work force. This article reviews the literature on mentorship and health profession students and presents results of a survey of radiation therapy students before and after implementation of a mentorship program. Results indicate that mentoring increases confidence, feelings ot acceptance and ability to apply what students have learned in the classroom.
