- Abstract
This article discusses the topic of Zionism in Jewish Studies and the need for critical engagement. The author acknowledges the sensitivity of the subject, especially in light of recent events, but emphasizes the importance of scholars engaging with different perspectives. The article highlights the range of Jewish critics of Zionism and explores various essays that offer insights into Israeli politics, religious Zionism, and alternative visions for the Jewish future. The author focuses on one particularly challenging essay that calls for restorative justice in Palestine/Israel and emphasizes the need to listen to and learn from different voices. The article concludes by suggesting that engaging with diverse perspectives can lead to imagining less violent futures.
